Welcome back to another edition of Star-Crossed with Meghan Rose to discuss the Leo Full Moon that is approaching on February 12th. This lunation is going to be sitting opposite (as Full Moon’s always do) from our Aquarius sun. We also have Venus in Aries, a fellow fire sign, making positive aspect to the moon in Leo. This spells out a few things:
We must focus on “oneness”: Sun, Mercury, and Pluto all in Aquarius during this Full Moon spells trouble for the selfish among us. Whether or not you watched the Grammys, it was beautiful to see this year’s winners speaking out against corporate greed, trans bans, and general conservatism and hatred. That same energy needs to be taken into this Full Moon with everyone focusing on how they can make the world better for all instead of some.
Stay confident, speak up even if your voice shakes: This Full Moon is not about doing everything perfectly, but doing things confidently in the face of fears or adversity. Leo’s energy is warm, it’s ruler is the sun, and when the Full Moon is in the sign of the warm, bright sun, it helps to lift us up and give us the attention we deserve. This does not mean everyone will get traction, success, or recognition - but the ones that can take a stand for what they believe in and do the things they want to, even if they’re afraid, will be heavily rewarded during this lunation.
Fortune favors the bold: taking action and initiative is key. Speaking your mind and going after what (and who) you truly want is key. Venus in Aries is further expressing to us that if we are able to enjoy, take risks, and be confident in our approach to what (or who) we love in this lifetime - it is all but promised to us.
This is not a time to go with the herd mentality, follow the rules, or sit quietly while wrongdoing is taking place. Instead, allow your anger (Aries) to guide you (Leo) to taking a stand for others/the collective (Aquarius). Instead, this Full Moon will bring the same heightened energetic state that all Full Moons do. It will make turning away from the issues you see in the world nearly impossible.
I’ve been saying — with a bit of pushback — that what’s happening in the world in 2025 is in direct relation to how ready we all were to upgrade together. Unfortunately, there is a growing level of division, not only in the U.S. but worldwide, pushing people to extremism, hatred, violence, and vitriol.
We’ve seen this during our country’s election, in online discourse, in other countries like Palestine, Ukraine, in Mexico’s drug wars, against Trans people, through racial violence, wealth inequality and the oligarchy overtaking, and the ongoing fight for women to be treated equally around the world.
But the truth is: it’s not man vs. woman, cis-gendered people against transgender people, democrat vs. republican, civilians vs. one another, or countries fighting against one another… it is simply those who are with Universal oneness, and those who are fearful, doubtful, or angered towards the idea of everyone being treated and viewed with equality. If you are unable to understand your own inherent value if there is no one beneath you, why would you want everyone to be treated equally and exist on an equal playing field? We often think so highly of billionaires - being fed content on a daily basis about “How to Make $10K months!!” on the low-end, and glorifying & hopelessly trying to emulate people like the Kardashians and Donald Trump on the high-end.
But who would our modern-day avatars and idols be if everyone felt whole, full, and connected to themselves? If people weren’t oppressed, fueled by insecurity, or looking to “scale their way to the top”, how would they be spending their time? This month’s Full Moon is giving us an opportunity to peer into that reality and start to take inspired action in the direction of oneness for all.
Things are Shifting for ALL of Us
I was really inspired by Dwayne Wade and Gabrielle Union’s speech at the NAACP awards ceremony about their daughter, Zaya Wade, who is a trans-girl. At only 17 years old, her presence and self-acceptance has caused countless headlines and threads of online discourse about her existence. And although it’s heartbreaking to think about a child being scrutinized by millions of adults around the world, what I found so beautiful was the pride, confidence, and strength that both her father and step-mother spoke with when discussing Zaya.
I sit back in these moments in shock that we still need to stand up to hateful people who will do anything to the object of their anger, but take no time for self-reflection or restraint. To me, I was born knowing that people in this world are going to live, look, talk, dress, and behave differently than I was. But the common sense portion to me that doesn’t seem to be so common is that if someone is not hurting themselves or others, that their existence and life choices are absolutely none of my business. The Full Moon in Leo on February 12th acts as a spotlight for those who have been bullied, oppressed, scared into submission, or outcasted to find their light again. Like Dwayne and Gabrielle’s speech, it’s also a great time for those of us that are not dealing with oppression, bullying, or systemic disadvantages to speak up on behalf of those who are. When everyone wins, no one has to lose.
Another example of this would be the recent Spotify hit podcast, “The Telepathy Tapes” (which I highly recommend listening to here if you haven’t already). The show documents host Ky Dickens, as she explores the undeniable telepathic connection between non-verbal children and their primary caretaker (typically their mother). It helps us, as a society, to understand a new perspective (and value) on autistic and neurodivergent people as they show their own version of communication and superhuman skills in a world that has often neglected them and their worth.
So I see this Full Moon opening up everyone’s eyes in a new way. Helping us to usher in a reality where we all stick up for one another, fill in for one another, and close the gaps for one another so that we can all thrive. So I want you to ask yourself the following questions under this Full Moon:
Where do I feel the most full, abundant, and privileged in my life?
Where do I feel the most suppressed, lacking, or unworthy in my life?
And then I want you to compare the two. Is there a thread that ties them together? In example, I myself would probably answer like this:
I am white, able-bodied, conventionally attractive, thin, and present as healthy. I know that these things have allowed me to skate through aspects of my life that I have watched others (including some of my closest people) struggle in these very arenas.
I feel the most suppressed by being a woman in a “man’s world”, struggling to be taken seriously due to the nature of my work (astrology, creating content online, and writing are all largely female-dominated career paths), and struggle to own my confidence in lieu of explaining why I belong in certain rooms.
I could very easily just flip the bird and shout “f*ck men!!” during this transit. Or I could do what I’m planning to do and lead an Astrology workshop the very next day, in a room filled with girls, gays, and theys discussing how to take advantage of the transits in the year ahead (which, you can read more about that here). I’m not going to roll over, give up, or back down right now. Instead, I want to equip myself and those who are willing to listen with actionable insights in order to lean into our own inherent strengths (found in our birth charts) and learn how to lean on other skilled folks for our weaknesses.
In example, with ADHD, I struggle to get silly, daily tasks done so I often outsource them as a way to protect my ability to tap into my creativity. I order my groceries online, sometimes I’ll order takeout for dinner after a long day of creating, I lean on other healers, massage therapists, a somatic therapist, skilled friends, and local service providers to help bring my work to life. I encourage you to do the same — my oldest adage is “let the plumber do the plumbing”, meaning that you can rely on other people who are experts or skilled craftspeople on things you are not naturally skilled at. But it’s important to give back to your community as well… don’t forget this as Pluto sits in Aquarius from now until 2043. Community is king for the next 18 years (and beyond!). Cheers to this Full Moon in Leo opposing all of that Aquarian energy and opening up the axis that asks us to both perform (Leo) and observe (Aquarius) as needed.
