There are few things in this world that compare to the sweet scent and light humidity that graces the Northern Hemisphere on summer mornings. Waking up lately in Italy and walking to my language classes has reminded me of how simple life was before I started playing into capitalism and became an adult. It makes me miss childhood, but quickly taps me on the shoulder and says “but you’re doing it now”. This has been a huge theme for me lately in life: you don’t need to think so much about the past if your present moment is here, malleable and waiting for you to make it into exactly what you want it to be. And I want to remind you of that, too.
I understand that global warming is happening, and maybe that sweet scent of summer came on a bit too early this year. I know that there are wars happening in the world, and I cry very often for the oppressed, the beaten, and the scared. I know that there’s poison in the food, and there’s guns in America, and there’s exploitation happening on all corners of the Internet. I know. But do you know what else I know? That stress, and tension, and fear are going to take us all out of this fight much earlier if we keep letting each moment be plagued by their presence. It’s time to allow yourself to enjoy life again, my friend. As much as you might be trying to avoid this simple fact: you are already extremely privileged if you’re reading this right now. So let’s get into June, and enjoy the moment you have right now.
The Astrology We Enter June With
June starts in the midst of Gemini season, hence the “lighten up” mood that most of us have been settling into. Gemini is mutable air, meaning that is quick on top of quick. Air moves swiftly, and is intangible. We cannot capture it, but we can feel it. It makes us stop and think about what’s going on. Gemini’s energy is extremely cerebral, ruled by Mercury, and speedy. The pro to this is that anything that felt stuck, slow or stagnant during Taurus season gets a fresh revamp and a shock to wake us up and encourage us to make moves on our ideas. However, the con is that there will be an onslaught of never-ending ideas, leading to forgetfulness and aloofness.
Example: I may have promised a Gemini season newsletter, but candidly, I really like to write forecasts at the top of each month. At some point when I find the right assistant, what I’ll do is a written forecast for the month and an in-depth podcast episode for each zodiac season (if you, or someone you know wants to dive in and help me wrangle this attention-deficit brain, please email me!!). It’s Gemini season for me too, over here.
We also start with Saturn newly appointed to Aries for the first time in 30 years, marking the start of elder Gen Z’s Saturn return (2025-2028, read all about that here). The combination of a Gemini sun, Saturn in Aries, and Pluto (still retrograde) in Aquarius is eccentric, and not at all worried about making mistakes. I read the current sky as a sort of shouting “who gives a f*ck” with a big grin on its face. It’s brash, and bold, and exactly the push that most of us needed to shake our lives up. But the real question here is: are you shaking life up just for the fun of it, or are you truly trusting your instincts and free falling into a more aligned reality? Personally, I wasn’t sure what my decision to move across the Atlantic was until recently. I got onto the phone with one of my best friends back in Los Angeles and we chatted in her morning, my evening with a 9-hour time difference that’s still taking me some getting used to. I made an espresso before our call, and we laughed about how much had changed since we used to live together in our tiny townhouse in West Hollywood. She sat on the back balcony of a massive home she just moved into in Topanga, and somewhere in between our catch-ups she mentioned that she saw something she wanted to share with me. A pit formed in my gut. She told me that my ex-fiancee (who proposed less than a year ago) was now in a public relationship with a new woman.
“Oh that’s it? Thank GOD. I thought you were going to tell me your dog died, or something actually important!”
We both started laughing again and moved on.
June’s Astrological Forecast
This month is packed with transits, on top of being in between Saturn’s shift into Aries (May 24th, 2025-2028) and July’s outer planetary shifts (Uranus entering Gemini on July 7). It’s a major summer for all 12 of the signs! (or winter for those in the Southern Hemisphere). Read on below to understand what’s shifting in the sky & subsequently happening on Earth in June:
June 6th: Venus enters Taurus
The planet of love, sex, beauty, money, abundance, and desire enters its home sign of Taurus. Venus loves being here, blessing all of us with a sense of groundedness and seduction as we pursue what (and who) we want. Expect long-term commitments to be plentiful during this time, and take it as a blessing if someone or something avoids committing to you. This is an all-or-nothing type of energy that also allows us to slow down, and enjoy what we already have. It’s reminiscent of the Queen of Pentacles in the Tarot to me, sitting atop her thrown, bare feet on the fertile soil beneath her, with a beautiful tiny bunny at her side. There’s nothing else to need for right now, but everything to want!
June 8th: Mercury enters Cancer
Mercury is the planet of communication, travel, and technology, and when he enters Cancer, there’s nothing too big or small to make us emotional! Expect that conversations will be charged, fueled with either bliss or anger. Very little in between. There’s a deep need for familiarity, only adding to the commitment energy that Venus in Taurus is bringing us. Don’t be afraid to stay inside if you’re having a bad day. Don’t be afraid to say “I need to pause” before saying “yes” when you’re maniacally happy. This energy is going to push us to tap into our intuition, and those who can meditate, drop into a state to channel, and trust our guts are going to do best this month. This is also a great time to witness what’s arising inside of you so that you can acknowledge it. You cannot heal without feeling! Trust yourself over your thoughts, but trust that your thoughts are appearing to help you, not hurt you.
June 9th: Jupiter enters Cancer
This is a major transit for us in 2025. Jupiter, the planet of expansion, good luck, good fortune, growth, wisdom, and abundance is dancing along through the zodiac and entering into watery, intuitive Cancer for the next year until June of 2026. I spoke about this on Pia Baroncini’s podcast and I believe this is going to bring us, collectively, into a state of desire for family units again — blood or chosen. This is also lover energy! Cancer loves love of all forms, so it’s important to understand that true love, vulnerability, and connection are the main vehicles to luck and abundance for the next year. Don’t be so afraid of rejection that you fumble your abundance, babe!
Jupiter will also make squares to Saturn in Aries on the 15th and Neptune in Aries on the 18th. Buckle up because this month is shaking the cherry tree of abundance, lessons, and spiritual upgrades for us all. Don’t be afraid of change, even if it’s uncomfortable at first.
June 11th: Full Moon in Sagittarius
This month’s Full Moon will be such a powerful time to speak your truth, engage in exciting and new opportunities to move your life forward, to travel (or book travel for future dates), and dive more deeply into a topic that you’re interested in learning about. I recommend getting out into the world and manifesting by *experiencing*. In example: if you want to have a life with more work-life balance, take a day off from work and go do something fun or relaxing. If you want to live in a more content and surrendered way, I recommend taking time away from your phone, off dating apps, etc. that are giving you a false sense of control over when things will happen for you in your life. This is also a great moon for sound baths, therapy, breath work, meditation or anything else that has the capacity to alter your frame of mind. Moral of this Full Moon’s story: take action on the life that you desire and be open to a change in perspective.
June 17th: Mars enters Virgo
Mars is the planet of action, aggression, passion, sexual chemistry, and motivation, and when it’s in meticulous and observational Virgo this may put a *pause* before all of the steps we take. Instead of doing things haphazardly, you will find yourself in the midst of some high-stakes conversations and situations through the last bit of June that truly challenge your ability to take a deep breath before reacting. We could also see a lot of things that we’ve been fighting for as a collective starting to look up around this time. If there are social or political causes that have felt near and dear to your heart, you can anticipate more clarity around the final half of June than ever before. I am anticipating a lot of “okay, we’re moving in the right direction now… it’s just going to take time to dig ourselves out of this deep hole” energy mid to late June, and Mars in Virgo will be a major player in this. Virgo wants to heal through mundane tasks, so things like bills getting signed, elections, or physical changes in who/what has power will start to surface during this time.
On a personal scale, this transit is more about resisting temptation and reactionary behavior in pursuit of a more balanced and healthy lifestyle. Prove to yourself that you can trust yourself to keep your word on things and make the healthy choices when faced with metaphorical forks in the road of your life.
June 20th: Sun enters Cancer
Happy Cancer season, especially to those who have a Cancer sun! If you have Cancer, Aries, Libra, or Capricorn placements in your chart, this time is going to bring monumental shifts and opportunities to dive deeper into your true self. Cancer season is for the lovers, the cuddle bugs, the romantics, and the caretakers. This is a time to release selfish tendencies and dive deeper into community, family, and close-knit relationships. It’s a time to cook at home, settle into your home (as a reminder: your body is a home, your living space is a home, this Earth is your home, too). From June 20-July 22 we have time to relish in Cancer’s warm embrace. This is the summer solstice in the Northern Hemisphere, ushering in a new season for us to explore, get curious, and enjoy more daylight than any other day of the year. What will you do with all of that extra time in the sunlight? Make it sweet.
June 25th: New Moon in Cancer
This New Moon in Cancer comes as a reminder to plant seeds of intention around family, roots, and stability. What legacy would we be proud to leave behind? It’s super reminiscent for me of the Diddy trial that’s going on — even if you were one of the “greats” if you got there on a platform of downright evil behavior, would it even matter what you did? or how much money you made? or how many awards you had? Instead of thinking that “accomplishment” was the main thing you should be manifesting, what if, instead, you called forward a healed nervous system? a strong community? a sense of confidence in your darkest moments? a loving relationship with your pet? a secure attachment style? forgiveness for your previous mistakes? There is so much beauty in this world that is going largely untapped because so many of us are running towards the wrong things. Say “no” to following the herd this time around and use this New Moon to call forward things, feelings, connections, and opportunities that would actually mean something to you.
June 26th: Mercury enters Leo
The final transit of June is Mercury’s dance into bold and courageous Leo. Mercury (as noted in his earlier transit this month) is the planet of travel, communication, ideation, technology and connection. With those themes being painted in gold flecks from Leo’s bright light, what we get is an opportunity to step into our most performative and confident version of Self as the month ends. This transit will ask us to speak up, speak clearly, and get our needs met. If there has been any tendencies in you that are rooted in scarcity (what if I leave and no one else loves me like this? what if I quit and I never find a job that pays me this much? what if I set boundaries with my friends and they cut me off?) you will get an opportunity with this transit to acknowledge the ways that you are holding yourself back from greatness and settling for “good enough”. Be willing to sever ties with the parts of your mind and lifestyle that are working against your large-scale hopes and dreams. Leo says, instead, “It’s my time to take up space! If someone/something doesn’t recognize my worth, they’re gone and making room for someone/something better!”
