Profection Years & Why You Should Care About Your Age
(not in an *ageist* way, but in an astrological way) 🫧
To say that 29 was a difficult year for me would be an understatement. My birthday was back on September 10 and every year I notate another year passing — not with the typical, vain moaning of “oh, I’m getting older…”, or “how has the time passed me by so quickly?” with deep ageist undertones dripping from each word. If anything, I have an overwhelming, tear-inducing sense of gratitude towards crossing the finish line of another year. I lost my best friend in a fatal car accident when we were 14 and it completely altered the way I look at age, health, and mortality. I have tried to view every new year after 14 as a gift that was never promised. I’m usually happy about adding another line to the ongoing tally mark chart of my fragile little life.
