As an only child, a redhead, a Scorpio stellium, neurodivergent, or whatever choice on the laundry list of traits that we want to blame my innate sensitivities on… changes to my life’s plans have always been challenging for me to say the least.
I look back at my life, and think about how much wasted time and misery I could have saved myself if I just embraced the simple fact that I am not God, I am not the creator of the Universe, I am not in control of what’s happening around me, and I for certain cannot orchestrate the next move of anybody other than myself.
I spent hundreds, if not thousands, of hours from ages 10-17 playing The Sims on my desktop computer in my room — the room in which I begged and pleaded with my dad to break down the wall between my bedroom and our family computer room (the concept of which is comical to me now with everyone having smartphones and laptops that can be used virtually anywhere) so that I wouldn't have to walk out one wooden doorway into the other, and could, instead, shut the door immediately upon my arrival back from school only leaving for short moments to pee and brush my teeth before bed. I even ate dinner alone in my room most nights to continue playing God.
It was a rush for me and all of my fixed sign energy (a Taurus rising with a seven part Scorpio stellium). The Sims challenged what should have been understood by me as a child, but simply got lost somewhere in translation with my parasocial (and creator-like) relationship to the simulated families and cities I was building and exploring with free reign: I cannot control the way that other people look, act, and live their lives.
However, over the last few months, I’ve had several friends of mine comment on how well I’m handling life right now. Currently faced with the recent ending of my engagement, the loss of the home we shared, giving up ownership of my pets to him, and - as Sylvia Plath describes it - the wilting and subsequent death of one of my life’s many figs from the fig tree.
I cannot give you an exact reasoning as to why I have just now learned how to let things go with grace. Maybe sometimes we get to a point of so much pressure that we have no other choice but to surrender our false sense of control. Maybe this was the Universe’s way of finally freeing me from the imprisonment I had lived the first 30 years of my life within, in which everything and everyone felt like they were my responsibility to control. But now? Nothing feels controlled. And I’ve never been more at ease.
Ironically?
Obviously?
Somewhere in between?
I’m building my own computer to start playing The Sims again.
The Nodes Shift onto the Pisces-Virgo Axis til 2026
We just recently had our North and South nodes (the mathematically calculated points on which our eclipses occur) shift from the Aries-Libra axis, where they were from July 2023-January 11, 2025 when they entered Pisces-Virgo. This means that the eclipses occurring from now until April 2026 will be in either Pisces or Virgo offering us the opportunity to release shadowy Virgoan tendencies (perfectionism, control, anal-retentive approaches to ourselves, others, and life in general) in attempt to align with the light aspects of Pisces energy (in flow, in tune with our emotions, trusting of the unseen aspects of life and reality, tapped into our creative and romantic pursuits).
I went over a lot of these themes in this month’s Pisces season workshop. The focal point of this current zodiacal season will have strong bearings on how the rest of 2025 pans out for us. This is mainly due to a New Moon in Pisces setting the tone to tie up old chapters of our lives and allows us to set intentions upon the zodiacal new year — which starts on March 20th, the first day of Aries season and the arrival of Spring Equinox.
A big theme between Pisces and Virgo (sister signs, opposite to one another, they share the same axis) is also the reason this year’s eclipses are going to be so intense. Pisces is the natural last sign of the zodiac, and Virgo sits smack-dab in the middle of the zodiac wheel, each offering us different perspectives about the same thing.
I always say that Virgo finds magic in the mundane tasks of reality, and Pisces is able to live in their own magical version of reality and channel that information back for the rest of us to enjoy. Virgo awakens epiphanies about life while mopping the floor, while Pisces daydreams while making art that eventually gets viewed, used, and ingested by others in their daily life. A great example between these two is the difference between Kobe Bryant and Kurt Cobain. Both geniuses in their respective crafts, but Kobe (Virgo) had a motto of: “It’s the one thing you can control. You are responsible for how people remember you—or don’t. So don’t take it lightly”. His work was hinged on the idea of working harder, dedication, and a constant chase for improvement and near-perfection. His approach is the epitome of Virgo energy, where our South Node currently resides for another 14 months.
However, our North Node of Destiny is in dreamy, creative, poetic Pisces. The example of Kurt Cobain (who was also a master of his craft) had a very different approach with similar end results: legacy. Cobain’s lyrics however state:
“No thought was put into this
I always knew it would come to this
Things have never been so swell
I have never failed to fail”
Rid of logic and rigidity, full of intuitive guidance, acceptance of what is, and understanding that failure is not the end-all-be-all when we’re walking through life. I think this is truly what we are all being asked to lean into from now until April of 2026 while the North Node is in Pisces. Allow this time, and the subsequent eclipses, help you to surrender a way of life that praises “good boy/girl” behavior, perfection, and logic only. If that truly worked and was the key to life, there would be a manual at this point for human behavior. But the nodal axis right now is reminding us that there is no “one size fits all” approach to life. You have never failed to fail.
Eclipses of 2025: Dreams, Reality, and What’s in our Control (January 2025-April 2026)
The following dates are when we can anticipate this energetic polarity to heighten, feeling the true release of the old paradigm (Aries-Libra axis of 2023-2025) and enter onto the Pisces-Virgo axis fully.
March 14: Full Moon Total LUNAR eclipse in Virgo (23 degrees)
March 29: New Moon partial SOLAR eclipse in Aries (9 degrees)
Sept 7: Full Moon Total LUNAR eclipse in Pisces (15 degrees)
Sept 21: New Moon Partial SOLAR Eclipse in Virgo (29 degrees)
As I’ve mentioned many times before, eclipses are not a time to do ritualized manifestation or intention setting ceremonies. These are potent portals of change, release, and chaos - an energy that you do not want to keep around. A.K.A. no moon water, crystal charging, spell casting, and manifesting during these times. Instead, I want you to look at the dates above, mark them on your calendar, and make a reminder to yourself to observe what is happening (or changing) in your life with curiosity and presentness.
Last year, I got engaged in between the eclipses and ended my engagement just after the final eclipse of 2024 closed. It was a potent portal of understanding, clarity, and truth for me.
Aries deals with Self, Libra deals with Others/Relationships. What I learned in 2024 (as this illuminated my intercepted 12th and 6th houses) is that my subconscious desires for a daily routine (marriage) was something that I needed to bring up to the surface and examine to truly understand it’s place in my mind, my heart, and my life. Essentially: “My subconscious desires (12th house) and sense of Self (Aries) were being stunted by my pursuit of Relationships (Libra) and impacting the way I lived my daily life (6th house)”.
I want you to use this same equation for your own life this year to understand these new eclipses. What houses are being impacted by the eclipses this year? To do this find the houses that Pisces and Virgo rule in your own chart, and then apply these themes:
Pisces: (Spirituality/Unseen aspects of life/Dreams/Emotional Reality/Creativity)
Virgo: (Daily tasks/Mundane aspects of life/Facts/Tangible Reality/Logic)
Using my chart as an example again for the first eclipse on March 14th, a Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Virgo at 23 degrees:
“My daily habits (6th house - where Virgo at 23 degrees is in my chart) are allowed to be freed (Full Moon) from perfectionism and harsh criticism (eclipse is in the sign of Virgo). Instead, I vow to make space for grace, self-acceptance, and surrender to fill this new void”.
Leave a comment with the house in your chart that Virgo at 23-degrees will be illuminating for your own personalized eclipse statement:
This year will rid us from rigid, brash, and unforgiving energy towards ourselves, others, and the world around us, and hopefully leave us with enough space for compassion, sensitivity, gentleness, creativity, and romance to enter in it’s place.
